Heinz Glade

Heinz Glade (born November 17, 1922 in Magdeburg ; † October 21, 1996 there ) was a German writer .

Life

Heinz Glade, son of insurance employee Willi Glade, attended secondary school in Magdeburg and after graduating from high school in 1940 was first drafted into the Reich Labor Service and then to the front as a soldier in World War II. From 1944 to 1947 he was a Soviet prisoner of war .

In June 1947 he returned to Magdeburg. From 1948 to 1951 he was an employee of the newspaper Daily Rundschau , at times also head of the state editorial office for Mecklenburg and Brandenburg. He then worked as a journalist for BZ am Abend and the weekly newspaper Sonntag . From 1954 to 1960 he was a journalist in Magdeburg and from 1957 worked as a freelance writer. From 1966 he was a member of the GDR writers' association . Among other things, he published travel and report books.

His estate is in the Magdeburg Literature House .
