Bernd Arold (born April 26, 1974 in Rüdesheim am Rhein ) is a German chef . He is known for his appearance on radio and television.

Life

Bernd Arold lived in Freising until he was five , after which he moved with the family to Karlstadt near Würzburg . There, on the advice of his mother, he accepted a cooking apprenticeship at the "Backöfele" in Würzburg and learned the basics of traditional Franconian cuisine . He passed his final exam with the grade “very good”. Afterwards he worked in the restaurant “Käfer-Schänke” in Munich and the now closed restaurant “Schweizer Stuben” in Bettingen. According to his own statement, there he learned "the fine cuisine, the strict discipline, the perfect combinations and the versatile taste."

In addition, he completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. After his apprenticeship and completing his community service, he continued to work as a cook. His next station took him to the "Mosquito" in Würzburg. According to his own statement, however, the most beautiful stop in his cooking career was the “Drei Stuben” in Meersburg under the direction of Stefan Marquard .

After his time in the “Drei Stuben”, he moved to the Lenbach restaurant in Munich with Stefan Marquard . Afterwards he cooked for the first time as head chef in the restaurant Ess9 . From July 26th, 2008 until the Corona crisis in 2020, he cooked his creations in the ambience of the seventies in his first own restaurant, “The Social Room” in Munich.
