Bernd Belina

Bernd Belina (* 1972 ) is a German geographer. Since April 2008 he has been professor at the Institute for Human Geography at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

Professional career and research focus

He did his doctorate at the Institute for Geography at the University of Bremen and then at the Institute for Geography at the University of Potsdam and at the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography in Leipzig. In 2008 he then took on a junior professorship in Frankfurt at the Institute for Human Geography. Since October 2011 he has been a professor at this same institute. Bernd Belina is co-editor of the book series Raumproduktionen: Theory & Social Practice, member of the editorial board of the journal Kriminologisches Journal , member of the editorial board of the online journal ACME (An International E-Journal for Critical Geographies) and on the advisory board of the journal Suburban . His main research interests are historical-geographical materialism , urban geography , political geography and critical criminology . He is also an important representative of the so-called critical geography .
