Bernd Diener (born June 19, 1959 in Gengenbach ) is a German motorcycle track racer .

Career

Bernd Diener began his career in 1979 and is still internationally successful today, which is why he can be described as the longest-serving German motorcycle racer. In 1983 Diener was in the grass track European Championship final for the first time and in 1986 he played his first long track World Championship final in Pfarrkirchen, Lower Bavaria , which he finished with 7th place. He competed in the Speedway Bundesliga for MSC Diedenbergen , together with his brothers Heinrich and Hubert Diener. His greatest successes are the long track runner-up world championship in 1996, the grass track European championship in 1999, winning the long track team World Cup in 2008 and 2012, and the German long track championship in 2000. Bernd Diener, now 54 years old, took on the Grand Prix Challenge at the long track World Cup finished sixth in September 2013 in Mühldorf am Inn and in 2014, as a 55-year-old, can still take part in the World Long Track Championships.

Bernd Diener comes from a family of racing drivers in the Black Forest: his two brothers Hubert (* 1956) and Heinrich (* 1958) were also in the long-course World Championship finals.
