Bernd Geiersbach

Bernd Geiersbach (born June 14, 1959 in Nothfelden ) is a German organist , composer and musicologist .

Life

Bernd Geiersbach studied church music , musicology and art history in Herford in the 1980s and worked as a church musician at the Corvinus Church in Göttingen.

Since 1988 he has been district cantor in Wolfhagen - with a short interruption. There he is organist and organ teacher and leads various choirs, including a. Children's choirs, a musical, senior and trombone choir as well as the youth symphony orchestra. In 2005 his tireless commitment was honored with the appointment of church music director . Regional church music director Martin Bartsch and regional church councilor Dr. Rainer Obrock presented the honor. At the gala concert of the Evangelical Church Community Wolfhagen on June 22, 2013 Pastor Hans Jürgen Basteck paid tribute to the 25 years of work of Bernd Geiersbach.

Together with his wife Simone Straka-Geiersbach, Bernd Geiersbach creates musicals that are very popular in Wolfhagen: 2005 - "Waiting room", 2009 - "There and away".

Bernd Geiersbach primarily composes works for brass, percussion and musicals.
