Bernd Hakenjos

Bernd Hakenjos (born February 13, 1945 in St. Georgen in the Black Forest ; † July 26, 2006 in Düsseldorf ) was a German art historian and long-time director of the Hetjens Museum / German Ceramic Museum in Düsseldorf. He became known to a wide audience through the broadcast “ Kunst und Krempel” on Bavarian TV, in which, as an expert in the two fields of porcelain and glass, he appraised and rated objects of art.

Career

Hookjos, who came to Düsseldorf in the year he was born, studied art history , archeology and theater studies in Cologne and Paris from 1966 to 1972 . In 1973 he received his doctorate on ceramics, glass and furniture by the French Art Nouveau artist Emile Gallé . After completing his doctorate, Hakenjos took up a position at the Hetjens Museum in Düsseldorf, where he took over the management in 1996. His first exhibition was on "European Art Nouveau Ceramics"; the exhibition catalog is still one of the standard works today.

From 1988 he regularly took part in " art and stuff ".

Hakenjos died of cancer at the age of 61 after a long illness.
