Bernd Heller

Bernd Heller (born May 8, 1947 in Dillenburg ) is a German television presenter , producer and speaker.

Career

Heller was pole vaulter with a personal best of 5.20 m. In 1971 he became German runner-up. He studied law . In 1971 he took his first state examination in law and in 1973 the second state examination in law. Until 1986 he worked as a lawyer .

From 1971 he also worked in television. First he was a reporter and moderator at SWF and HR . In 1977 he switched to ZDF . There he worked as a reporter and caused a sensation with a film in which the Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson admitted to taking doping substances .

From February 2, 1980, Heller was the presenter of the current sports studio for 13 years . He achieved particular attention with the broadcast on May 20, 1989, in which he moderated a dispute between Christoph Daum and Uli Hoeneß . In 1993 he left the ZDF. He attributes this to the fact that he, with its clear stance on doping at the then ZDF - director Dieter Stolte did unpopular.

Then Heller worked as a presenter at n-tv ( n-tv News , telebörse and Dresdner Sonntagsbörse ) and as a television producer, u. a. Brand new for the Dresden Sunday Exchange and the N24 broadcast - The Media Markt Magazin .

In 2015 he presented the Inside Mainz 05 project , a documentary image film about the success of the 1.FSV Mainz 05 soccer club . The film contained many scenes from the inner workings of the club, shot with a handheld camera, but met with mixed criticism.

He is currently working as a freelance film writer and speaker, for example on stock market and financial topics, and conducts media training for managers.

He is married to his wife Christiane and has two children (Marco and Sina).
