Bernd Kämpf

Bernd Kämpf (* 1949 in Neuwied ) is a German church musician , singer and harpsichordist.

Kämpf studied Catholic church music at the Cologne University of Music and Dance . In the subjects of singing, organ and harpsichord, he also passed the artistic maturity examination. As a cantor, he first worked at the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche in Neuwied . In 1975 he became regional cantor in Neuwied. He is now working as a regional cantor in the Rhine-Mosel-Ahr area. He has given concerts as a singer in Germany and abroad. In 1982 he founded the Neuwied Chamber Choir . Kämpf is married to the church musician Sabine Paganetti. Among his students was Franz-Josef Selig . He maintains a good cooperation with his Neuwied colleague church music director Thomas Schmidt .

In 1999 he was awarded the Neuwied Culture Prize.
