Bernd Kampka

Bernd Kampka (born March 29, 1919 in Breslau ; † June 19, 1997 in Marburg ) was a German entertainment musician and film and television composer with occasional trips as an actor in front of the camera.

Live and act

Little is known about Kampka's life. Shortly after the Second World War he settled in Marburg, where he remained until his death. In the 1950s he composed several entertainment music such as the song and tango Der Gondoliere singt (1949), the tango Kleine Insel Mainau (1952), the slow fox I don't know a better woman for me (1953), the moderato fox under one good star (1955) and serenade for Carla, With tailwind and Love is like a rose (all 1960).

In the 1950s he also wrote the music for several ice-cream revues, which were performed in the nightclub "Casa Carioca" on the grounds of the USA Army Base in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with great effort and international participation. Including the music for the revues States on Skates , Happy Birthday (1954) and Bottoms Up .

In 1959, the director Rolf Thiele approached Kampka and had him provide musical accompaniment to a number of his cinema productions. Thus established in the film business, Kampka was entrusted by ZDF in 1967 with the re-orchestration of two famous Soviet silent films by Sergei Eisenstein , Strike and October . Kampka also composed several times for television in the 1960s and early 1970s and was preferably active in Peter Beauvais ' productions .
