Mary Jane Clark (* 1954 as Mary Jane Behrends Elizabeth ) is an American author of detective novels .

Life

Mary Clark is the daughter of an FBI agent who discovered Russian espionage during the Cold War and later worked on kidnapping and extortion cases. She attended high school at the Immaculate Heart Academy in Bergen County , New Jersey (graduated in 1972 ).

She studied journalism and political science at the University of Rhode Island with the aim of later working for a news channel. She began her professional career as a staff member at CBS News headquarters in New York City , where she now works as an editor and producer.

In 1998 she published her first thriller . Her books have been published in 23 languages. The author, who was married to a son of Mary Higgins Clark , has two grown children and lives in New Jersey and Florida .

Her first twelve books are media thrillers, influenced by her decades of experience in television journalism. The criminal cases take place in the fictional TV news world "KEY News" that they created.

In her other series, "The Wedding Cake Mysteries", she lets former actress Piper Donovan act, who works as a wedding cake designer in her parents' shop after her engagement. She becomes involved in murder cases that threaten to prevent wedding ceremonies.
