Bernd Müller (* 2. August 1955 in Lauchhammer ) is a former German football player in the defense . He played for BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

Müller played in his youth from 1961 to 1968 for his home club BSG Motor Lauchhammer-Ost. He then moved to the youth department of BSG Energie Cottbus and stayed there until 1971. Then BFC took Dynamo Müller under contract, before returning to BSG Energie Cottbus in 1976. There he came in his first season in 1976/77 to nine games and two goals. In the following season 1977/78 there were only eleven missions, he was able to increase his playing time in the next seasons and came to 62 games and eight goals by the end of the 1980/81 season. At the FDGB Cup 1978/79 Müller reached the quarter-finals with Cottbus, in which they lost to SG Dynamo Dresden . After promotion to the league he scored a goal in 17 league games in 1981/82 . He made his debut on August 22, 1981, when he was in the starting line-up on matchday 1 in a 5-0 defeat against Rot-Weiß Erfurt . On March 13, 1982 (17th matchday) he succeeded his first goal in the game against BSG Wismut Aue . The goal came in the 4th minute, the game ended with a 3-2 win for Cottbus. After relegation, Müller had two seasons with 13 appearances each. After that he did not play a game for the first team. In 1986 Müller moved to BSG Motor Forst , where he ended his career in 1990.
