Bernd Pöppelmann (born April 4, 1946 in Rheine ) is a German painter who has specialized primarily in the naturalistic depiction of animals in their ancestral surroundings (" Wildlife Art ").

Life

Pöppelmann, who now lives in Steinfurt in the Münsterland region and started painting as an autodidact , was a prize winner in 1998 and 2000 at Europe's largest "Wildlife Art" exhibition, Wild in de Natuur in Enschede / Netherlands . The painter received international attention through exhibitions in Germany , the Netherlands, Belgium , Sweden , the USA and Japan . In addition, he has contributed to numerous book illustrations , including:

  • The hunt - KG Blüchel, Könemann-Verlag
  • Birds of prey - G.Trommer, Ulmer-Verlag
  • Predatory game today - B. Hespeler, BLV
  • Birds of prey - W. Bednarek, Landbuch-Verlag
  • Kenya - Hagen, Kilda-Verlag
  • Best of Wildlife - R. u. R. Wolf, North Light Books, USA

His portraits and still lifes , which also depict unusual elements such as construction machinery , repeatedly show a reference to nature.

A characteristic of the painter is above all his ability to capture the different animal species in their natural movement. His pictures should also give impetus for a philosophical consideration of nature.
