Bernd Röpcke

Bernd Röpcke (born November 15, 1951 ) was a football player in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the East German Football Association. He played there for 1. FC Union Berlin and BSG Chemie Leipzig . Röpcke is a six-time junior national player.

Athletic career

Röpcke played in the junior league team of FC Hansa Rostock until 1969 . In 1969 he also made six international appearances in the GDR junior national team, but was only a substitute in the offensive area. After Röpcke had become eligible to play for the men's area, he came there on April 4, 1969 in the 2nd team of FC Hansa in the league game of the second-rate GDR league BSG KKW Nord Greifswald - FC Hansa Rostock II (0-0) as a right winger Commitment. Five more GDR league games followed by the end of the season. The 1.79 m tall Röpcke did not make the leap into the league in the following years either. By 1971 he completed 22 point games in the GDR league for FC Hansa II. He then began an 18-month military service.

At the beginning of the 1973/74 season he joined the first division club 1. FC Union Berlin. Here he came to his first league assignment on June 9, 1973. In the summer of 1975 Röpcke changed again and joined the upper division chemistry Leipzig, where his former teammate Gerhard Brümmer had been playing for two years . On the 4th match day of the 1975/76 season Röpcke appeared for the first time for the Leipzig in a league game, in the encounter BFC Dynamo - Chemie Leipzig (1-0) he was used as a center forward. Usually in this position he played a total of twelve times this season. Röpcke also got down with chemistry in his first year. So he had completed 38 games in the GDR league within seven years.

As a recreational soccer player, the engineering pedagogue joined the company sports association Baukombinat Leipzig in 1980, which at that time was playing in the third-rate district league. In 1987 Röpcke won the city cup with the Volkssportgemeinschaft Städtebau Leipzig.
