Bernd Schober
Bernd Schober (* 1965 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German oboist .
Life
Bernd Schober studied with Burkhard Glaetzner at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music in Leipzig . In 1986 he was employed as a substitute in the Gewandhaus concerts. From 1987 to 1989 he was oboist at the Handel Festival Orchestra in Halle under General Music Director Christian Kluttig . In 1989 he became principal oboist of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden , where he played under Hans Vonk , Giuseppe Sinopoli , Bernard Haitink , Fabio Luisi and Christian Thielemann . He is active in various chamber music associations, including the Chamber Harmony of the Staatskapelle Dresden and the Virtuosi Saxoniae by Ludwig Güttler . Since 2000 he has also been solo oboist of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra .
