Bernd Vöhringer (* 24. October 1968 in Sindelfingen ) is a German politician of the CDU . Since August 2001 he has been Lord Mayor of the city ​​of Sindelfingen.

Life

Bernd Vöhringer completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at IBM Germany in Stuttgart-Vaihingen from 1985 to 1987 . In 1990 he began studying economics at the University of Hohenheim , which he successfully completed in 1996 with a degree in economics. During his studies, Vöhringer worked at the German branch of Hewlett-Packard in Böblingen , initially as a marketing assistant, and after graduating as a product manager. In 2000 he moved to Munich-based management consultancy Droege & Comp. In 2003 , Bernd Vöhringer received his doctorate with the text Support of municipal political leadership through information and communication technology in the context of New Public Management .

Vöhringer's political career began as chairman of the district association of the Junge Union Böblingen. From 1994 to 2000 he was a member of the municipal council of Sindelfingen, where he also led the CDU parliamentary group from 1997 to 2000. In 2001, Bernd Vöhringer was elected Lord Mayor of his hometown of Sindelfingen, and when he took office he was the youngest Lord Mayor in Germany. In 2017 he was re-elected.
