Bernd Weinkauf

Bernd Weinkauf (born February 26, 1943 in Küstrin ) is a German writer .

Life

Bernd Weinkauf studied German language, literature and art education in Erfurt from 1962 to 1966 . He then worked as a teacher and troop librarian, among other things. From 1973 to 1976 he was at the Institute for Literature "Johannes R. Becher" in Leipzig . From 1976 to 1979 he worked as a dramaturge at the Theater der Junge Welt . From 1974 to 1989 he worked as "IM Walther" for the Ministry for State Security . As city councilor for culture and education, he was dismissed by the Leipzig city council on May 9, 1991 together with Thomas Cantor Hans-Joachim Rotzsch because of their work for state security. Bernd Weinkauf has been working as a freelance copywriter and author since 1979. Bernd Weinkauf writes prose , non-fiction and screenplays. Some of his works have been translated into Japanese, Bulgarian and Danish. He lives in Leipzig.
