Bernhard Aichner
Bernhard Aichner (* 1972 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian writer and photographer.
Life
Bernhard Aichner spent his childhood in East Tyrol . At the age of 17 he dropped out of high school in Lienz and went to Innsbruck. There he worked first as a waiter and then as a photo lab technician. During this time he started writing. In 1992 he completed the Matura at the grammar school for working people. He then studied German and turned his passion into a profession: photography. He contributed to numerous art catalogs and worked for five years as a photographer for the Austrian daily newspaper Kurier . In parallel, he published in literary magazines and gave first readings.
In 2000 he opened a photography studio. In the same year his first volume of short stories, Babalon, was published by Skarabaeus Verlag. Two years later, his first novel The Necessities About Happiness was published . In 2004, his play Pissoir was premiered at the Tyrolean Dramatists Festival. At the same time he began work on his new novel Nur Blau , which was published in March 2006. In spring 2006, ORF produced his radio play Schick . His piece Poltern was also premiered. In October 2008 Super Andi , a commissioned work for the Tiroler Landestheater , premiered in the Kammerspiele. In February 2009 his third novel Snow Comes was published by Skarabaeus Verlag. In August 2010, Aichner's first crime thriller, Die Schöne und der Tod, was published by Haymon Verlag . In 2011 the second Max Broll crime thriller Forever Dead followed and in 2012 funeral games . Also in 2012, the ORF radio play production Our dear neighbor Dr. Fuchs premiered.
Today Bernhard Aichner lives in Innsbruck with his wife and three children.
