Bernhard Falk (police officer)

Bernhard Falk (born August 5, 1948 in Villmar ) was Vice President of the German Federal Criminal Police Office from 1993 to 2010 .

Life

After high school he entered in 1968 into the service of the police of Hesse and trained as a to 1970 law enforcement officials in the upscale service with the Hessian riot police . After working in Frankfurt am Main and Darmstadt, he began training in the higher service of the criminal police in 1977 at the Police Leadership Academy (now the German Police University ) in Münster. After several years in Frankfurt and Darmstadt, he was appointed director of the Hessian criminal police in 1987.

Career at the BKA

On December 1, 1993 , Bernhard Falk was appointed (then sole) Vice President of the Federal Criminal Police Office. Due to the strong increase in staff and a reorganization of the BKA, a second post was set up as Vice President at the beginning of 2004. Falk retired in 2010. His successor was Jürgen Maurer .
