Bernhard Hackenberg

Bernhard Hackenberg (born July 21, 1896 in Hüsten ; † May 10, 1985 in Bonn ) was Lord Mayor of Gladbeck .

Life

Bernhard Hackenberg began studying law after having participated in World War I from March 1916 to November 1918 . After passing the two state legal examinations and working as a court assessor at Neheim District Court, he became magistrate assessor in Herne on January 5, 1925. This was followed on April 26, 1927 by the election of councilor of the city of Soest and finally the inauguration on October 15, 1932 as mayor of the city of Gladbeck. He had been elected for twelve years, but remained in office according to the provisions of the regulation on the extension of the term of office of temporary officials, until the occupation of the city on March 29, 1945 by Allied troops. Hackenberg was initially a member of the center and from 1933 a member of the SS with the rank of SS-Untersturmführer and led the SS-Sturm 10/19. From May 1937 on he was a member of the NSDAP . Hackenberg was Colonel Leader of the German Red Cross and district leader of the DRK district office in Gladbeck.
