Bernhard Hederich
Bernhard Hederich (* 1533 in Freiberg , † 1605 in Schwerin ) was a German chronicler of Mecklenburg, educator, Latin poet and Latin grammarian.
Life
After attending the Princely School in Meißen , he studied at the University of Wittenberg from 1549 and was appointed protector at the Princely School in Schwerin in 1557. After the death of Mathias Marcus Dabercusius , he became the rector of the institution as his son-in-law and helped it to develop enormously until the end of his life.
In 1578, Hederich wrote a Latin grammar and some school books. In addition, he had moved in the field of history, for which he published his “Schwerinische Cronica” in Rostock in 1598 and followed the book in Rostock in 1605 with his Meggalopolis divisa et reunita etc. He had also left Latin poems and a manuscript about the bishops of Schwerin.
