Bernhard Heinrich Frister

Bernhard Heinrich Frister (born December 22, 1778 in Lübeck ; † June 10, 1861 ibid) was a German politician and mayor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Frister studied law in Göttingen and was awarded a doctorate there with his dissertation de privilegio creditorum personali in 1804. PhD in both rights. After completing his studies, he became a lawyer in Lübeck in 1804 and second secretary to the Senate in 1806, and first secretary in 1818. In 1821 Frister was elected to the council and in 1833 mayor. He was active in the judiciary, in the tax department and in the finance department. For many years he was chairman of the higher court. On June 11, 1856, his 50th anniversary in office was celebrated.
