Bernhard Heusler

Bernhard Heusler (born December 27, 1963 in Basel ) is a Swiss lawyer and former president of the football club FC Basel .

Life

Heusler studied law at the University of Basel (lic. Iur. 1988; summa cum laude). He was a research assistant to René Rhinow and was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD. In 1994 he completed a postgraduate course at the University of California, Davis and worked for the New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell in 1994/95 . From 1994 he worked in the Wenger Plattner law firm in Basel, from 2000 as a partner, and managed mandates with a focus on corporate law, IT law and sports law. He has been a consultant at the law firm Walder Wyss in Basel since 2014 .

Heusler holds various board memberships, including Valora Holding AG . He is President of the Foundation for Sick Children in Basel.

Heusler is married and has two children.

FC Basel

Bernhard Heusler was President and Delegate of the Board of Directors of the FC Basel football club . From 2012 to 2017 Heusler acted as president of the football club. During the Heusler era, the Swiss club won the championship title eight times in a row and FC Basel was able to record sales of over 100 million Swiss francs for the first time.
