Bernhard Keller (* 1962 ) is a Swiss mathematician who studies algebra . He is a professor at the University of Paris VII ( Denis Diderot ).

Keller received his doctorate in 1990 under Pierre Gabriel at the University of Zurich ( On Derived Categories ).

He is particularly concerned with Clusteralgebren (and their Kategorifizierung, related to the representation of quivers ( Quiver ) and triangulated Calabi-Yau categories) and derived categories . Keller applied cluster algebras (via the categorization method) to the proof of the periodicity suspected by Alexander Borissowitsch Samolodchikov (Zamolodchikov) of certain discrete dynamic systems introduced by Samolodchikow as part of the thermodynamic Bethe approach (T-systems, Y-systems, formed from Dynkin diagrams). He conducted the proof for twisted systems with Japanese mathematicians using tropical geometry . In doing so, they also proved Rogers-type dilogarithmic identities.

In 2014 he received the Sophie Germain Prize . He was invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Madrid 2006 ( differential graded categories ).
