Bernhard Kletter

Bernhard Kletter (born February 15, 1957 in Krems an der Donau ; † May 13, 2021 in Bisamberg ) was an Austrian meteorologist and television presenter . He was the son of Leopold Kletter , who founded the ORF weather department in 1980 .

Education and career

Bernhard Kletter studied meteorology and astronomy in Vienna and also worked as a tour guide. He completed his basic military service at the weather station in Langenlebarn , at which time he was already working as a freelancer for the ORF weather department. After a few months as an assistant at the Institute for Meteorology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences , Kletter moved to the ORF weather department in 1984, which he headed from 1995 to 2007.

In addition to the design and moderation of numerous ZIB weather reports, Kletter was involved in several ORF weather reforms and developed the Teletext and TW1 weather. On February 28, 2014, he was moderating the weather report in the period in picture 1, his last television appearance before his retirement at the age of 57.

Private

Kletter was a member of the Catholic student association KaV Norica Vienna in the Austrian Cartell Association .

Kletter last lived in Bisamberg in Lower Austria and died in May 2021 at the age of 64.
