Bernhard Kotsch

Bernhard Kotsch (* before 1970 in Regensburg ) is a German civil servant and ministerial director .

From 1979 to 1988 he attended the Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium in Regensburg. On 15 December 1999 a doctorate Kotsch at the Technical University of Chemnitz in a political science topic for Dr. phil. He then gave lectures at his alma mater .

Kotsch has been the coordinator of the federal intelligence services since 2018 and heads Department 7 of the Federal Chancellery , which oversees the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) and coordinates the federal intelligence services - in addition to the BND, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) and the Military Counter-Intelligence Service (MAD) - is responsible. Previously, Kotsch was the deputy office manager of Chancellor Angela Merkel .
