Bernhard Lamel

Bernhard Lamel (born November 7, 1971 in Vienna , Austria) is an Austrian mathematician and professor of mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Vienna .

He studied at the University of Vienna and the University of California, San Diego and worked as a scientist at his home university as well as at the Royal Technical University of Stockholm and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign . In 2006 he received his habilitation for mathematics at the University of Vienna. In 2007 he won the START Prize of the FWF and the Promotion Prize of the Austrian Mathematical Society . He has been an associate professor since 2011 and a professor at the University of Vienna since 2017. In 2013 he was accepted as a member of the Young Curia of the Austrian Academy of Sciences .

Lamel is a member of the complex analysis group at the faculty. His research focuses on CR geometry .
