Medal of Honor

The advancement award of the Austrian Mathematical Society is the highest Austrian mathematics award . It is given to young mathematicians who have made above-average results through their mathematical research. A significant part of the work must have been carried out in Austria.

The sponsorship award was set up at the request of Hans Hornich at the board meeting in 1955 and has been awarded since 1956. The prize is endowed with € 1,000 and a medal of honor (the front shows Rudolf Inzinger , the back commemorates the founding of the ÖMG) and is connected with a main lecture at the next ÖMG congress.
