Michael Oberguggenberger

Michael Oberguggenberger (born September 10, 1953 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian mathematician , professor at the Institute for Fundamentals of Civil Engineering at the University of Innsbruck .

Oberguggenberger studied mathematics and physics at the University of Innsbruck from 1972 to 1979 . He then moved to Duke University, where he obtained his doctorate in 1982 under Michael C. Reed . He then returned to Innsbruck where he completed his habilitation in 1987. He works in the field of partial differential equations and the theory of distributions .

In 1993 he received the Austrian Mathematical Society's sponsorship award .

He plays bass in rock and blues environments.
