Life

Monika Ludwig, born in 1966 in Cologne , Germany , obtained the academic degree Dipl.-Ing. at the Technical University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1994 under the direction of Peter M. Gruber with the dissertation Asymptotic Approximation of Convex Bodies . During this time she worked as a contract assistant. From 1994 to 2000 she stayed at the Technical University of Vienna as an assistant and associate professor. From 1999 to 2000 she was visiting professor at University College London . Ludwig subsequently worked at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering (Polytechnic Institute of New York University) with Erwin Lutwak on an Erwin Schrödinger scholarship from the FWF . In 2002 she was visiting professor at the University of Bern . In 2007 she moved to New York University Tandon School of Engineering. In 2010 she returned to the Vienna University of Technology as a full professor. From 2013 to 2015 she was head of department at the Institute for Discrete Mathematics and Geometry.
