Friedrich Pillichshammer

Friedrich Pillichshammer (born March 22, 1973 ) is an Austrian mathematician and lecturer at the University of Linz .

He did his doctorate in 1999 at the University of Salzburg under Reinhard Wolf. In 2003 he completed his habilitation at the JKU Linz , where he works at the Institute for Financial Mathematics and Applied Number Theory . His research area is quasi- Monte Carlo methods for numerical integration , uniform distribution modulo 1 and discrepancy theory. In 2006 he received the advancement award of the Austrian Mathematical Society . In 2013 he received the IBC Award and in 2016 the Rosa and Edmund Hlawka Prize of the Austrian Academy of Sciences . Since 2018 he has been Managing Editor of Uniform Distribution Theory magazine .
