Bernhard Rieger (* 1967 in Nuremberg ) is a German wrestler and married. He became German champion in 1990 and is known for his fair fights.

Life

After graduating from high school in Nuremberg, Rieger studied English and sport to become a teacher at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . He has additional training in computer science. Since 2003 he has been a teacher at the secondary school in Feucht .

As a wrestler

  • 1978 German Youth Championship: 2nd place in 27 kg
  • 1979 German youth championship: 3rd place in 27 kg
  • 1981 German Youth Championship: 2nd place in 31 kg (lost to Alexander Leipold )
  • 1985 European Junior Championship: 9th place in 60 kg gr./röm. style
  • 1990 German men's lightweight champion gr./röm. Style, ahead of world champion Claudio Passarelli , who only finished 4th
  • up to 2000 wrestlers in the Bundesliga team from SV St. Johannis 07 eV

As coach of the teams of SV St. Johannis 07 eV

Bernhard Rieger has been Fred Pscherer's trainer successor since 1999. He is mainly responsible for training in the Gr.-Roman. Style. Until 2005 he was also responsible for the line-up of the three teams.
