TuS Adelhausen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The gymnastics and sports club Adelhausen was founded in 1962 in a small village on the Dinkelberg in the southern Black Forest (the community has been a district of Rheinfelden since the 1970s ). Today, the club is known nationwide, particularly for its wrestling Bundesliga team.

Club history

In addition to wrestling, weightlifting was initially offered. However, there was initially no venue for the home fights. The training also took place under difficult conditions: it was held in a school classroom, competitions in the hall of a local inn. Some of the active participants even had to travel to the surrounding communities for training. Even then, despite everything, the association had 85 members.

In 1968 the wrestler was promoted to the national league. In 1974 the construction of a hall began. The league was always within reach.

In 1983, Ingo Kohler became the first German wrestling champion from Adelhausen. Three years later the league championship took place. The interim promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga Southwest was followed by relegation in 1991.

In 2002 he was promoted to the 1st Wrestling League (Season South). The team was able to hold onto there before it slipped to last place in the 2005/2006 season and voluntarily relegated.

In 2006/2007 TuS Adelhausen became champions of the 2nd Bundesliga Southwest and in the relegation against AB Aichhalden and RG Hausen-Zell, they were directly promoted back to the 1st Bundesliga. After a season in the first division, three years in the second division followed before a successful return to the Bundesliga in 2011/12 with a fifth place.

Today the association has around 700 members.
