Bernhard Schwichtenberg (born November 5, 1938 in Berlin ) is an artist and professor emeritus at the Muthesius Art College in Kiel .

Life

From 1959 to 1964 he studied graphics at the Muthesius factory school in Kiel and was a master student of Hermann Bentele .

He then remained connected to the school through teaching activities and in 1978 became professor for 3D graphic design at the Werkschule, which was transferred to the Kiel University of Applied Sciences , and is now the Muthesius Art Academy in Kiel . He designed the election campaign for Björn Engholm . Schwichtenberg is known for his wire objects. His more recent works include material images.

Schwichtenberg was a member of the Federal Assembly in 1989 and 2004 . In 2012 he was awarded the City of Kiel's Culture Prize.
