Bernhard Valke

Bernhard Valke (* in the 14th century; † March 11, 1448 ) was cathedral dean in Münster and canon in Hildesheim .

Life

Bernhard Valke came from the Münsterland knightly family Valke, whose seat was the Falkenhof in Rheine . He was the son of Johann Valke and received on October 12, 1390 from Pope Bonifatius IX. a promise of a vacant Münster cathedral priest . He was first documented as a canon on May 25, 1394. In October 1401, Bernhard also received a papal commitment to a cathedral canon in Hildesheim . In March 1418 he was cathedral scholastic and thus head of the cathedral school . From February 19, 1443, Bernhard is to be proven as cathedral dean. He remained in this office until his death. He was archdeacon of Bocholt and member of the cathedral calendar.
