Bernhard Vogel (copperplate engraver)
Bernhard Vogel (* 1683 in Nuremberg ; † 1737 there ) was a German engraver.
Bernhard Vogel apprenticed to Christoph Weigel and Elias Christoph Heiß , whose daughter he married, and learned the mezzotint from them . So he created a number of portraits, e.g. B. from his father and his teachers. His main work is the collection " Joh. Kupetzky incomparabilis artificis imagines et picturae aliquot antehac arte quam vocant nigra aeri incisae a B. Vogelio jam vero similiter continuatae opera et sumptibus Vogel D. Preissleri Chalcographi".
His son Johann Christoph Vogel († 1750) also became a copper engraver.
