Bernhard Vogelsang

Bernhard Vogelsang (born November 11, 1895 in Elsfleth ; † May 31, 1970 in Bremerhaven ) was a German managing director and politician ( SPD ) in Bremerhaven. He was a member of the Bremen citizenship .

politics

Vogelsang had been a member of the SPD since the 1920s. At an election rally of the SPD in early 1933 at Weiß in Speckenbüttel (today Union), he courageously shouted into the hall: "When Adolf Hitler was not yet German ..." The police therefore dissolved the meeting and the SPD Reichsbanner people had to flee. By June 1933, the National Socialists' political police arrested almost all leading Social Democrats and trade unionists from Wesermünde , on May 2, 1933 a. a. Landgraf, Vogelsang, Seidel, Kammerahl , Menkens, Haltendorf and Kassebohm.

Vogelsang was a member of the Bremen citizenship for the SPD for around 12 years from 1947 to 1959 and worked in various deputations and committees of the citizenship.
