Bert Balte (born February 28, 1963 in Amsterdam , the Netherlands ) is a former Dutch football player and current coach . He came to Germany with his family in 1971 at the age of eight and has lived there ever since.

Career

Balte played for ASV Landau until 1981 and then went to the top league for FK Pirmasens . Via FK Clausen (1985/86), Balte came to 1. FSV Mainz 05 in 1986 , with whom he was promoted to the 2. Bundesliga in 1988, where he played 15 times. In 1989 he left the zero five and moved to SV Wehen Taunusstein , today's SV Wehen Wiesbaden .

As a trainer, he was in charge of the Mainz district club SV Gonsenheim , Fiam Italia Mainz and VfB Bodenheim . From 2008 until his resignation in early September 2012, he was the coach of TSV Schott Mainz . He achieved three promotions in a row with the team - from the district class to the association league. After a one-year interlude with the district classics SV Bretzenheim , Balte took over the coaching position at SVW Mainz , which plays in the southwest German regional league East, at the beginning of the 2013/14 season . On September 13, 2016, he resigned as a coach. A few weeks later, Balte became the coach of the national league team SpVgg Ingelheim . At the end of the 2016/17 season he was relegated with the team to the Rheinhessen district league. Balte ended his work in Ingelheim on September 14, 2018.

From the 2019/20 season, Balte will train 1817 Mainz in the B-Class.
