history

Foundation and early days

The association was founded on June 2, 1919. The first game they lost 7-0 against FC Münchweiler 1914. In the 1921/22 season, the FKC took part in the official game for the first time and won the championship in the C-class. In 1929 the club merged with the football department of the Turnverein 1894 Clausen eV , founded in 1925 . In the same year, the group championship in the A-class was won. In 1931 the success could be repeated. However, the rise in the district league failed due to a 1: 3 loss to FC Waldfischbach in Landau .

From 1933 the FK Clausen played in the 1st district class group Pirmasens, whose championship was won in 1936 and 1939. After the outbreak of World War II, gaming operations had to be stopped in 1940.

After the Second World War

After the re-establishment in 1946, the FK Clausen was not divided into the national league, but in the A-Class South, despite winning the playoff against FC Münchweiler in 1914. In this division, the club won the cup championship in 1956 and the championship in 1953 and 1959. In 1966 they were promoted to the Southwest Amateur League , which at that time was the substructure of the Southwest Regionalliga , the second highest German division. As early as 1968, they descended again and in 1970 managed to rise again.

Southwest champion and promotion to the league

The club's greatest success was celebrated in the 1973/74 season : The FKC was champion of the Southwest Amateur League, Southwest German Amateur Champion and third in the German Amateur Championship , where they lost in the semifinals to the eventual champions SSV Reutlingen 05 . In this season, the future professional footballer Werner Melzer was the top scorer in the amateur league southwest.

The club qualified for participation in the main round of the 1975/76 DFB Cup . In the first round you failed at the second division Wormatia Worms .

The teams that did not qualify for the newly introduced 2nd Bundesliga played in the amateur league southwest from the 1974/75 season. Due to the resulting increased playing strength, the FKC only secured relegation in 1976 in a relegation round. For the 1978/79 season, the Oberliga Südwest was introduced as the highest amateur division. The club narrowly missed the qualification. In the following years, the FK Clausen took second place in the division, which has now been renamed the Association League, before winning the Association League championship in 1981 and climbing into the Oberliga.

In 1983 he was relegated to the association league. The immediate ascent was just missed. In 1985 this succeeded as champion of the Association League Southwest. In 1987 they finally got out of the league. After further relegations in the following years, the Clausener only play in the A-class Pirmasens / Zweibrücken (as of 2019/20).
