Bert Duncanson

Albert Gordon "Bert" Duncanson (born October 2, 1911 in Winnipeg , Manitoba , † March 24, 2000 in Cowansville , Québec ) was a Canadian ice hockey player . At the Olympic Winter Games in 1932 , he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.

Career

Bert Duncanson won the Memorial Cup with the Elmwood Millionaires in 1931 . During the tournament he scored the decisive goal for his team. He then represented Canada with the Winnipeg Hockey Club at the 1932 Winter Games. Until 1937 he continued to play in the amateur field of ice hockey, including in the senior championship of the Ontario Hockey Association . He later worked in the oil industry. In 1998, he donated some souvenirs of his Olympic win to the Toronto Hockey Hall of Fame .

International

For Canada , Duncanson took part in the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , where he won the gold medal with his team. He scored a goal in the 5-0 win against Germany .
