Bert Rudolf (actually Hubert Rudolf) (born April 25, 1905 in Seifersdorf near Jägerndorf ; † November 6, 1992 in Linz ) was an Austrian composer .

Born as a monarchical Austrian in the German-speaking part of Bohemia, he belonged to that generation of artists who had to redefine the term “home” several times in the course of their lives. In keeping with family tradition, a career as a teacher was also intended for him. During his training at the teacher training college in Opava, however, Rudolf was finally drawn to music. He studied organ, piano and composition, the latter with Leoš Janáček . He gained his first stage experience as a conductor in the Bohemian provinces, married to the opera singer Thea Honsig (born as Theresia Neubauer in Vienna). Further composition studies with Philipp Jarnach in Cologne followed, and later he worked as a teacher in Vienna. After a short stopover in Munich, he finally took up residence in Linz from 1952, where he worked as a freelance composer. He died in November 1992 and was buried at Hietzinger Friedhof in Vienna.

The Johann Wenzel Stamitz Prize winner (1971) created seven operas , one operetta , ballets and more than 60 pieces of music for feature and cultural films, music for almost 100 radio plays, seven cantatas, nine works for voice and orchestra, 23 orchestral works , 16 chamber music works and 102 songs.

His final resting place is in the Hietzinger Friedhof (55–181) in Vienna.
