Berthold Brehm
Berthold Brehm (born July 11, 1951 in Schopfheim ) is a German local politician ( CDU ). He was Chemnitz mayor until 2015 and headed Department 1 for internal services, fire brigade, schools, etc. After the mayor election in the city of Chemnitz on June 11, 2006, he represented the elected candidate Barbara Ludwig ( SPD ) for a few weeks , as she was after a Objection to the electoral process could not be immediately introduced into the office.
Life
In April 2009 he commissioned the painting of the mural Chemnitz - City of Modernism , which brought him nationwide media attention.
Brehm is married and has two children. After studying business administration, he worked as managing director of the CDU parliamentary group in Dortmund and Mannheim , before taking over the post of head of Department 1 of the city administration in Chemnitz in 1994. Brehm was last re-elected in the mayoral election in June 2008.
