Bertil Edvard Göransson (born February 9, 1919 in Limhamn , † April 10, 2004 in Vårgårda ) was a Swedish helmsman in rowing , who won an Olympic silver medal in 1956.

Career

Göransson, who rowed for the Roddklubben Three Towns in Kungälv, won the silver medal in the foursome with helmsman together with Evert Gunnarsson , Olof Larsson , Gösta Eriksson and Ivar Aronsson behind the Argentines and in front of the Finns at the European Championships in Ghent in 1955 . All five also belonged to the Swedish eighth , which also won silver behind the boat from the Soviet Union.

In the following year, the five Swedes also competed in both boat classes at the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 . In the foursome they won the silver medal behind the Italians and in front of the Finns. The Swedish eight finished fourth behind boats from the United States, Canada and Australia.
