Bertram Myron Gross

Bertram Myron Gross (* 1912 in Philadelphia ; † March 12, 1997 in Walnut Creek ) was an American social scientist and systems theorist . As an employee of the US Senate , he was instrumental in drafting the Employment Act in 1946 . In the mid-1950s he taught public administration at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem on behalf of the US government and later worked as a professor of political science at Hunter College ( CUNY ).

He became particularly well known with his book Friendly Fascism , published in 1980 , in which he sharply criticized the increasing entanglement between the political and business elites.

He is the father of the Physics Nobel Prize winner David Gross and the brother of the pianist Edith Grosz .
