Bertrand Lemoine

Bertrand Lemoine (born May 12, 1951 in Beirut ) is a French architect, engineer and publicist. He is director of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Paris-La Villette and, since February 10, 2010, director of the international workshop in the greater Paris area.

Life

Lemoine is a graduate of the École polytechnique and the École des Ponts ParisTech School of Civil Engineering . A trained architect and engineer, he holds a PhD in history from the University of Paris III .

Lemoine specializes in architectural history, history of iron and metal structures of the 19th and 20th centuries. He was editor of the magazine AMC-Le Moniteur Architektur und Acier pour construire and editor-in-chief of the magazine Architecture Acier Construction . He is currently a member of the Academy of Architecture. As a professor at the Center national de la recherche scientifique , he taught the history of construction at the École d'architecture de la ville et des territoires in Marne-la-Vallée . Since 2010 he has been the director of the international workshop in the greater Paris area.

As a publicist, Lemoine has written over 40 books and 400 articles in the field of engineering history, architecture and urban development, including books on Gustave Eiffel and his buildings. He has also curated numerous exhibitions.
