Roxadustat is an experimental active ingredient from the class of HIF prolyl hydroxylase inhibitors (HIF = hypoxia-induced factor ) that is in clinical phase III . It stimulates the formation of erythrocytes (red blood cells), which increases the body's ability to transport oxygen. The orally available roxadustat is very similar in its effects to erythropoietin (EPO). Moulinet admitted the illegal use of Roxadustat on Twitter . He decided not to open the B sample . For violating the anti-doping rules, Moulinet was banned from the IAAF for four years on March 30, 2015. Moulinet is the first athlete to be banned for doping with Roxadustat.
