β Coronae Borealis ( Beta Coronae Borealis , β CrB ) is a star in the constellation Corona Borealis . It has an apparent magnitude of 3.7 mag and belongs to the spectral class F0. It is 114 light-years away and has 26 times the luminosity of the sun and a magnetic field 10,000 times stronger .
The star bears the historical proper name Nusakan . This is derived from the Arabic Kas al Masakin , which translated means bowl or bowl and was once the name for the entire constellation.
