Betrayal was an American metal band from Van Nuys , California that formed in 1989, disbanded in 1993, and re-formed in 2000.

history

The band was founded in 1989 as a Christian thrash metal project by singer Chris Ackerman, guitarists Marcus L. Colon and Matt Maners, bassist Jeff Lain and drummer Brian Meuse. In 1991 the debut album Renaissance by Death followed on Wonderland Records . The same label followed in 1993 with the second album The Passing , whereupon guitarist Bob McCue and drummer Jeff Mason were to be heard as new members. The band broke up in October of the same year. Colon and Maners later joined Deliverance .

Marcus L. Colon revived the band as a solo project in 2000 and released the album Leaving Nevermore , which was now an industrial and gothic metal project. In 2002 the next album followed with In Remembrance of Me .

style

The band initially played technically demanding Thrash Metal, which is comparable to that of Death Angel . The content of the songs was influenced by Christianity. Since their reunification, the band has played a mixture of industrial and gothic metal, with modern influences from rock being processed.
