Bettina Lisbach

Bettina Lisbach (born October 26, 1964 in Karlsruhe ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and was a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament . Since February 1, 2019, she has been the mayor of the environment in Karlsruhe.

biography

Bettina Lisbach studied land management at the Nürtingen University of Applied Sciences from 1985 to 1989 with a degree in engineering and part-time from 1990 to 1998 geoecology at the University of Karlsruhe with a degree in geoecology. After training as a software developer, she works in the field of local transport planning.

Party and politics

Bettina Lisbach has been a member of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party since 1998. Since 2004 she has held a mandate in the municipal council of Karlsruhe , since 2008 as parliamentary group leader. In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 , she won a direct mandate (first mandate) in the Karlsruhe I state electoral district . At the end of April 2016 she resigned from the municipal council in Karlsruhe in order to be able to pursue her work as a member of the state parliament. She resigned her state parliament mandate on January 31, 2019 to take up the office of Karlsruhe Mayor for the Environment. Her successor in the state parliament was her deputy, Ute Leidig .
