Ute Leidig

Ute Leidig (born February 19, 1963 in Heidelberg ) is a German social psychologist and politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). Since February 1, 2019, she has been a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg ( MdL ).

Live and act

Ute Leidig studied psychology at the University of Trier from 1982 and graduated in 1989 with a degree in psychology. She then worked as a research assistant at the University of Kaiserslautern until 1994 and received her doctorate in social sciences ( Dr. rer. Soc. ) In 1995 at the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen . After working as a research assistant at the Center for Empirical Educational Research at the University of Landau from 1997 to 2000, she worked between 2001 and 2007 as a freelance consultant and scientist in the areas of “teaching and learning” and “media psychology”. She then worked for a short time as a trainer / coach in the field of project management at the IT service provider Lutz & Grub AG in Karlsruhe, before moving to Heidelberg University in 2008, where she worked as a trainer / consultant in the key competencies department (department for studies and teaching) until 2019 was active.

Since 2005, Leidig has been politically organized with the Greens in the Karlsruhe district association. For this she sat from 2009 to 2019 in the municipal council of the city of Karlsruhe, from 2016 as parliamentary group leader. In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 , she ran as a substitute candidate for Bettina Lisbach in the Karlsruhe I state electoral district . After Lisbach was elected mayor for the environment and health of the city of Karlsruhe on November 27, 2018 and resigned her state parliament mandate on January 31, 2019, Leidig followed on February 1, 2019 as a successor in a direct mandate in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg. There she is a member of the Committee on Home Affairs, Digitization and Migration and the Petitions Committee as the local political spokeswoman for the Greens.
