action

The shop assistants Lila and Ely still live with their parents, Lila's parents are separated and her father tells her from Morocco that she will never be part of his life. Lila doesn’t reveal this to her mother, who believes her husband will return, or to her best friend Ely. The two young women dream of a life in better society, of expensive clothes, designer shoes and parties. You secretly sneak into a Parisian luxury disco. After the party is over, they watch young Agathe being harassed by a man. Ely knocks him out, whereupon Agathe and the model Joan drive her and Lila home. Lila says they both live in Neuilly-sur-Seine when in reality they live in Puteaux . However, Lila knows the front door code of a noble apartment because she was babysitting there once and can cover up the fraud.

At a party to which they stole the ticket, they meet Agathe and Joan again as well as the young Maxx, with whom Lila had already flirted in the disco. While Lila and Maxx withdraw, Ely is invited home by Agathe and Joan. Ely alienates her father, who wants to pick her up from the party, and pretends not to know him, while he is molested by Agathe and Joan. With Agathe and Joan at home, Ely is quickly demoted to the maid and takes care of the drinks and clothes for the guests. Lila comes up later and steals one of Agathes rings from the jewelry drawer, which she later gives to Ely. Lila and Ely learn that Joan has a young son named Elvis.

At a fine dinner, Lila and Ely run into their friend Carole, whom they pass off as their fitness trainer in front of Agathe and Joan. In fact, Carole received numerous commissions from Agathe, Joan and their friends in the period that followed. Lila and Ely, in turn, are slowly growing apart. Lila continues her relationship with Maxx, often spending days with him and quitting her job. Ely is increasingly seen by Agathe and Joan as a nanny and takes care of Elvis. She secretly puts the stolen ring back.

One day Maxx breaks up with Lila without giving a reason, who is now looking for contact with Ely again. When Agathe notices her missing ring, Lila immediately accuses Carole, but Ely can find the ring in Agathe's jewelry box. Ely is increasingly disappointed by Lila's behavior, especially since Lila doesn't manage to tell her sandpit love Eric clearly that she doesn't feel anything for him. If Ely lied for Lila for a long time, she now forces her to speak to Éric at a party. Lila spends the night with Eric and sneaks out of the house in the morning, leaving her bag behind. Ely is driven home by Maxx that night, but directs him to the right apartment. Lila, who was still hoping to return to Maxx, is desperate. The friendship with Ely breaks up in a heated argument. Shortly afterwards Ely receives Lila's bag from Éric, which she initially keeps.

Ely puts her life right. She makes up with her father and decides to move into her own apartment. She does not choose an apartment in the same block as her parents, but rather moves into Carole's old apartment far away from her parents. In turn, Lila reveals to her mother that her father has left the family forever. She also rearranges her life and gets a job in a shoe store. One day Ely is waiting for her here, who has learned her whereabouts with tricks. She gives Lila's bag back - she had previously found and read Lila's father's letters - and both friends apologize to each other. After a short time they are ready for prank again, as if nothing had ever happened.
